Master Professional

Colin has worked at Great Western Golf since opening in 2001. Previously Colin worked at the prestigious Loch Lomond Golf Club and has competed both in Asia and in a European Tour event.

He brings a wealth of experience to his role and coaches players from complete beginners to those on professional tours.

Colin has achieved a Sports Practitioners Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming. He is also a SGU Development centre coach, charged with growing the talent pool of golfers who can continue through the ranks and potentially into the National squad in future years. He is the Argyll & Bute county coach and continues to run his successful junior squad programme. Throughout this time 6 players to date have made the progression to the SGU Junior Academy.

In recognition of continued learning and achievements, the PGA awarded Colin with his Advanced Professional status in January 2009. The learning continues through attendance at many seminars and is currently part way through another PGA qualification which will finish in late 2014.

Teaching Professional

Andy joined the team at Great Western Golf Glasgow in June 2005. Previously Andy spent three years coaching on board cruise liners and was based at Charlton Golf Club in Fife for many years, coaching at all levels. Andy is always looking to learn about all things golf by attending seminars through the PGA to gain more knowledge to impart to his pupils. Andy really enjoys the team atmosphere here at Great Western Golf and his enthusiasm comes across to students at all levels.

David Pirie     David Pirie

Associate Professional

David is the old boy of the team! A previous Head Professional at both Clydebank & District and Balmore Golf Clubs, he joined Great Western Golf in March 2002. David spent four years coaching in Auckland, New Zealand, where he established and presented a weekly Radio show. During this time he wrote his first book ‘Play Better Golf’, shortly followed by ‘Golf for Seniors’ in conjunction with Bob Charles and has just completed work on his latest book, ‘Golf Buddy’. David resides in Milngavie with his wife Jackie and Daughter Nicola. He continues to write a weekly Golf column in the ‘Milngavie & Bearsden Herald’ and enjoys teaching players of all standards.
